20CrMo is the full name of 20CrMo alloy structural steel, which is a medium carbon low alloy steel. The "20" in its name indicates a carbon content of roughly 0.2%, while the "CrMo" indicates that the main alloying elements are chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo).
20CrMo alloy structural steel features:
Mechanical properties: 20CrMo steel has high strength, hardness and toughness, and can withstand large loads and impacts. At the same time, it also has good plasticity and weldability, convenient for processing and connection.
Heat treatment characteristics: The steel has good hardenability, and can obtain high hardness and strength through quenching and tempering treatment. In addition, it also has good tempering softening resistance and can maintain stable performance at high temperatures.
Corrosion resistance: The addition of chromium and molybdenum makes 20CrMo steel have good corrosion resistance and can maintain good stability in harsh environments such as humidity, acid and alkali.
The chemical composition of 20CrMo alloy structural steel mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo). Among them, the carbon content is about 0.2%, chromium and molybdenum are the main alloying elements, the content of 0.80~1.10% and 0.15~0.25%, respectively. These elements exist in a certain proportion in steel, which can adjust the strength and toughness of steel, so that it has excellent mechanical properties.
20CrMo alloy steel can be delivered in heat treated (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or no heat treated state. The specific delivery status shall be indicated in the contract. Among them, the heat treatment specification is usually 880β quenching, water-cooled, oil-cooled; Tempering 500β, water cooling, oil cooling.
Application of 20CrMo alloy structural steel:
Mechanical manufacturing: Due to the high strength and hardness of 20CrMo steel, it is suitable for the manufacture of high-strength parts, such as gears, shafts and universal joints of the transmission system.
Petroleum and chemical equipment: 20CrMo steel plate is widely used in the manufacture of petroleum and chemical equipment because of its high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance, such as the manufacture of oil drills, pipeline connectors, oil well casing and chemical reactors and other equipment parts.
Forging die: Because of its good plasticity and ductility, while high hardness, suitable for manufacturing forging die, such as hammer, module and press working parts.
Rail transportation: 20CrMo steel plates are also commonly used in the manufacture of rail transportation equipment and components, such as rail connectors, wheels, axles and body structures.
In short, 20CrMo alloy structural steel has an important position in industrial production because of its excellent properties and wide application fields.
