Galvanized steel coil fails in the warehouse more often than on site. Store indoors on timber or rubber-covered skids, never directly on concrete. Keep coils dry and ventilated; trapped moisture causes white rust, the zinc corrosion product that dulls and pits surfaces. Stack no more than two or three high, chocked to prevent rolling. Lift with a proper C-hook or sling that protects the edges. Use coils first in, first out, and repack opened coils. Light white films do not affect service life; heavy build-up does.
