Formability is the first question for any fabricator buying galvanized steel coil. Zinc is softer than steel and slides over tooling, but thick coatings can flake at tight radii, and drawing grades need a suitable substrate—DX51D+Z for bending, DX53D+Z for deep drawing. Ask for r-values, elongation, and coating adhesion data. Keep die clearances slightly larger than for cold-rolled, and use lubricant compatible with zinc. Skin-passed, oiled coil feeds most consistently. Test a sample on your line first.
