A572 Gr.50 steel plate is a steel plate grade under American standards and is a type of low-alloy high-strength steel plate. At present, the strength requirements of steel plates are relatively high, but there are still requirements for thickness, so these high-strength steel plates came into being. For example, A572 Gr.50 steel plate adds a small amount of alloy elements inside the steel plate. After passing through a special heat treatment process, the strength and toughness of the steel plate can be partially improved to meet the requirements and can be used.

On the basis of carbon structural steel, appropriate alloying elements are added, and it is mainly used to manufacture steel for mechanical parts with larger cross-section sizes. It has suitable hardenability, high strength, toughness and fatigue strength, and low brittle transition temperature after corresponding heat treatment. The electrode used is usually a tungsten electrode. The plasma gas used to generate the plasma arc can be argon, nitrogen, helium or a mixture of the two. It is also protected with inert gas through the nozzle.
