Hot-rolled galvanized coils have a relatively rough surface texture, and their thickness is generally greater than 2mm. They are less expensive to produce and are known for their high strength and toughness. However, their surface finish is not as aesthetically pleasing, which limits their use in applications requiring superior surface quality.
 
In contrast, cold-rolled galvanized coils feature a smooth and shiny surface, making them more visually appealing. Their thickness typically ranges from 0.3mm to 2mm, and they exhibit excellent mechanical properties, including good formability and weldability. These characteristics make them ideal for applications requiring precision and aesthetics.
 
Applications
Hot-rolled galvanized coils are commonly used in construction, structural components, and industrial equipment where strength and durability are prioritized over appearance. Examples include roofing sheets, guardrails, and heavy machinery parts.
 
Cold-rolled galvanized coils are preferred in industries where high surface quality and precise dimensions are essential. They are widely used in automotive body panels, home appliances, and decorative building materials.
